Guidance.
Mathieu — Guide of the experience.
State-certified (BPJEPS Voile) | Former director of nautical bases | Initiated into the Forest Tradition
Life path.
From the rigour of service to the mastery of breath.
Mathieu's path is not a straight line — it's an accumulation of demanding disciplines. It is this polyvalence that allows him today to hold a frame where technical safety meets psychological depth.
- High-Level Service — 7 years Before dedicating himself to guidance, Mathieu worked in high-end personal assistance and wellbeing coordination for holding company executives. That passage gave him a fine-grained understanding of the stakes of responsibility, the management of decision-maker stress, and the codes of excellence.
- Maritime Anchoring — since childhood Passionate about sailing since the age of 7. French State-certified (BPJEPS Voile), he has run nautical bases and managed the logistics of complex sailing structures. His knowledge of the sea is that of a seasoned technician and a risk manager.
- Monastic Immersion — 12 years At 22, he left for Asia and entered the Thai Forest Tradition — the most exacting current of Theravada Buddhism. Ordained as a monk, he lived two years of full practice (robe, bowl, silence). Upon returning to France, he continued this transmission with the same teacher for ten years.
- The Breath Matrix — 4 years Student of Serge Wilfart, master of the voice and breath. He worked four years at his side to absorb a deep breathing method from a restricted lineage. This is the key to the nervous stabilisation he uses today for Odyssée du Sommeil.
- Rhythm and Music A musician for twenty years, he uses rhythm as a permanent anchor within his personal structure.
Mathieu has practised the meditative vigil (Wan Phra) for over 15 years. It is this unique combination — the rigour of high-level service, the technical mastery of sailing, and the depth of monastic immersion — that makes this experience possible.
The Safety Setup.
To guarantee absolute vigilance and complete immersion, each expedition relies on a dedicated team :
- A professional Skipper Dedicated exclusively to technical handling, navigation, and the safety of the vessel.
- An Assistant In charge of logistics and operational support on board.
- Mathieu Dedicated exclusively to your guidance, the supervision of breath work, and the maintenance of your nervous structure throughout the 35 hours.
The Philosophy.
"I have no wish to transmit a method. I have no wish to have students, nor to become a figure of personal development. I want that, at the end of the 35 hours, you walk away with something that belongs to you — not with a system that belongs to me.
What I offer is the honest, sustained adaptation of a practice I've been living for over 15 years, adapted to a maritime frame and to people who will not become monks. I offer it twelve times a year. No more."
— MathieuWhat Mathieu is not.
- He is not a coach He does not offer a six-month transformation programme.
- He is not a therapist He is not trained to treat psychological disorders. He will refuse any applicant whose condition requires medical care.
- He is not a spiritual guide He does not give teachings and does not form disciples.
What he does : he takes thirty people a year and leads them to cross the breaking point.
The Next Step.
If this path resonates with your current needs, the next step is a technical interview.
- 30 to 60 minutes by video with Mathieu.
- The objective is simple : verify alignment and the capacity to hold the frame.
- If your application is retained, a slot will be offered to you.
