L'Odyssée du Sommeil
The Engineering
of Rupture.
35 hours of full commitment.
This program is not a schedule. It is an itinerary that adapts in real time to the sea, the wind, and the dynamics of the group.
Each phase is calibrated to exhaust your usual defence mechanisms and force access to an unprecedented clarity.
Phase 0 — D-15
The tuning.
Entering the tunnel.
The expedition begins 15 days before boarding. You receive a precise instruction by email every 5 days.
- D-15 — Breath Respiratory opening exercises (Pneumaphonie). The objective is to loosen the rib cage to increase your capacity for presence.
- D-10 — Stripping down Restricted technical equipment list. We eliminate the superfluous and the distractions.
- D-5 — Physiology Dietary guidelines and rhythm regulation to stabilise your deep energy before impact.
Phase 1 — H+0 → H+18
Immersion.
The maritime commitment.
- Boarding — Afternoon Arrival at port and taking possession of the vessel. Passage from terrestrial rhythm to maritime mode.
- Casting Off Communications shutdown. Technical and safety briefing. Departure from port before sunset.
- Night Navigation Active wakeful phase. Learning the basics of navigation. Cold and darkness serve as the first levers of vigilance.
- Fluid Transmission Mathieu transmits techniques of breath, spinal alignment, and shares his experience along the way. There is no theoretical lecture: teaching happens in action.
Phase 2 — H+18 → H+30
The Tilt.
Adjusting to the instant.
Here, no fixed rule. The course is decided in the moment, according to what the sea and the group dictate.
- Permanent Instability The uninterrupted motion of the sailboat forces the brain to recalculate balance without rest, draining the last mental resistances.
- Rupture Stopover Depending on conditions, a stopover on an island may be decided for a walk or a hike. This change of support (from sea to land) allows verticality and presence to be worked from another angle.
- The Tipping Point Without imposed silence, calm settles naturally through exhaustion. The mind has no energy left to narrate. This is where pure clarity emerges.
Phase 3 — H+30 → H+35
Integration.
The return.
- The Return Course Navigation toward the coast at the second sunrise.
- Anchoring Direct exchange on the lived experience, to stabilise this quality of attention.
- Disembarkation Return to dock. The nervous system is reset.
You have the structure. The rest is lived.
